Different by Design

The Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD has a history of being different, of taking a path unlike other school districts. In November 1958, three cities agreed to merge their school systems into one school district. In Texas today, there are more than 1,000 school districts, some serving only a few hundred students. It is rare for cities that operate their own school systems to agree to merge, in order to provide students with better resources and options for the future, but that is exactly what happened more than 50 years ago.
HEB ISD began being a different kind of district and has remained so ever since. Today, the District prepares students for life in a global economy, where they compete with peers in other countries to gain college admission or that first job. The following programs are just some of what makes HEB ISD Different By Design:
Core Knowledge
Suzuki Strings
Secondary Orchestra
Spanish Immersion
International Business Initiative
International Baccalaureate
ARTWORK: Giant sculpture by Trinity High School International Baccalaureate student, 2010 IB Art Show.
