The HEB ISD Culinary Arts program opens doors to exciting careers. Today’s students need a special edge, an advantage, to prepare them for the increasingly global marketplace. That means preparing for life in the global age while still in high school, and the HEB ISD Culinary Arts program offers exactly that.
Students who desire a career with opportunities to travel the world can begin with culinary courses at the Technical Education Center. Students learn to prepare and serve full course meals, and they receive hands-on experience with internships at local restaurants and resort hotels. Students take center stage by providing meals at a variety of district-sponsored banquets and community events throughout the school year.
Culinary students can aspire to attend world-renowned culinary institutions for advanced degrees, or they can join the staff of a restaurant or hotel upon high school graduation. The district’s Culinary Arts program paves the way for students who desire to own or manage a business in the fast-paced world of fine dining. Today’s mobile society means more people look for unique dining experiences, and there is a growing need for trained culinary professionals. That training begins with the district’s culinary edge.
