High school is a challenging time for students, as they transition from getting a taste of advanced academics to total immersion in intellectual rigor. HEB students hone their study and time management skills as they finalize plans for college or the workforce. High school means preparing to compete in the global marketplace.
High school students can move from pre-IB to the comprehensive IB diploma program, which provides access to top schools in the country and abroad. Students may also enroll in Culinary Arts or Auto Tech/Collision to get a head start on college or learn life skills that will be valuable regardless of their ultimate career path.
Programs such as Orchestra, Spanish Immersion, and International Business Initiative (IBI), which are currently offered to students in junior high, will grow by one grade each year, until current junior high students reach high school. In just a few short years, orchestra will be a K – 12 program, immersion will be offered in grades 1 – 12, and IBI will be a 7 – 12 program. By planning early, parents can provide their child an “edge” from Core Knowledge Pre - K through graduation.
