Mrs. Gilley's 3rd grade class at Lakewood Elementary ended a recent week of studying compare and contrast by creating a Skittles and M&M's Venn diagram. For this activity, they created a Venn diagram flip book to write down all the ways that Skittles and M&M's are alike and different. When the students finished writing their ideas on their flip book they were given 3 index cards to write down 2 differences and 1 similarity. The students brought their ideas to the large hula hoop Venn diagram on the floor. After all students had contributed to the class Venn diagram, they reviewed the ideas together and then ate their wonderful snack.
