Celebrate National School Counseling Week Feb. 6-10!

Over the past few months, Texas students have faced innumerable tragedies including: border violence, devastating wildfires, school shootings, student suicides and the military deployment of family members.

Professional school counselors work on the front lines with students, families and staff to address these catastrophes as well as the normal stresses of school - filling out college applications, preparing for the new STARR test, identifying and dealing with learning disabilities, and overcoming social pressures.

Honor your school counselors for the tireless work they perform on behalf of the students in your school by celebrating National School Counseling Week Feb. 6-10, 2012 on your campus. This year's theme, School Counselors: Helping Students Be Brilliant will focus public attention on the unique contributions of professional school counselors and highlight the tremendous impact that school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success, plan for a career, and overcome hardship.
