HEB ISD instructional administrators, financial administrators, and other staff at the central administration complex participated in the 40 Book Challenge during the 2011-2012 school year. Many schools challenged their students to read at least 40 books this year. Some schools' faculties challenged other schools to see whose teachers could read the most books. At the Central Administration complex, readers kept lists of all books read this year and posted them outside their office doors.
