On May 23rd while waiting to pay for his meal, a student at Bedford Junior High started choking on a piece of food. As the commotion started, Child Nutrition Specialist Tara Patel dashed out of the serving line and swiftly performed the Heimlich Maneuver on Edward Cruz. Edward commented on being very scared and did not remember the rescue but expressed gratitude to Ms. Patel for saving his life.
