BridgesWork, a Stonegate Elementary School adopter, spent part of the summer providing elementary and junior high students who live at Post Oak East Apartments with activities to prepare them for the new school year. BridgesWork volunteers took older students on a field trip to the Grand Prairie campus of Concordia University for a leadership academy. They followed the academy with day camps for elementary students, held at the apartment complex. Students brushed up on academics in the morning and ended with a group lunch. Post Oak East Apartments won a 2012 Texas Association of Partners in Education award for its partnership with Stonegate Elementary School.
