On October 20, North Euless Elementary students, parents, and teachers came together to plant more than 130 plants and trees in the North Euless Outdoor Learning Area (NEOLA). NEOLA will be a designated area on the North Euless Elementary campus devoted to Place Based Education. NEOLA will be a living classroom complete with a running stream, a pond, garden, native flora, as well as education and lesson space. Within NEOLA, teachers and students will use the environment as an integrating context across disciplines and concentrate on team taught, hands-on learning experiences focusing on problem solving projects.
