Board Names Activity Centers after Two District Icons
The Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Board of Trustees took immediate action on the first agenda item at the December 11 board meeting, the naming of the new high school activity centers, which are still under construction.
The Board chose to name the center at LD Bell High School the E. Don Brown Activity Center and the activity center at Trinity High School was named the B.J. Murray Activity Center.
Brown and Murray were principals at LD Bell High School and Trinity High School, respectively, and both were recognized at the board meeting. Brown was principal for 26 years and Murray opened Trinity High School and was principal for its first 25 years. The current high school principals and numerous community members were at the meeting to lend support and extend congratulations.
Board President Dr. Faye Beaulieu said the two men have become so synonymous with their high schools that "there was never any doubt we would name these wonderful new buildings after you in honor of your service."

Both former principals were in the inaugural group to be inducted into the HEB ISD Hall of Fame in 2008. The E. Don Brown Activity Center and B.J. Murray Activity Center are scheduled to open spring 2013.
