District Geography Competition Recognizes Local Scholars

Each year, all 19 elementary schools and five junior highs hold campus Geography Challenge competitions. The winner from each school takes a test from the National Geographic Society (which determines eligibility for the state geography bee) and participates in the district-wide Geography Challenge. At the 2013 HEB ISD Geography Challenge, 1st place went to Ben Benjadol of Wilshire and 2nd place was a tie between Naveed Chowdhry of Hurst Junior High and Carson Cone of Meadow Creek. Congratulations to all our impressive students, and thank you to all the campus coordinators and others who made this year's competitions a success!
