VIPS Begins 2010-2011 Year

By the time volunteers attended the May 2010 VIPS awards luncheon to receive awards for the 2009-2010 school year, the 2010-2011 VIPS year had already begun. Volunteers are asked to log their hours April 1 -- March 31 to help the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD meet its annual goal. Each month, the Communications Department has a drawing from among volunteers who have logged their hours. The May winner was Debi Weatherly from Bell Manor. She wins a Starbucks gift card. Starbucks in Bedford is a member of the Adopt-A-School program, and they donated prizes for one year. Weatherly logged 83.2 hours in one month and serves as the PTA Volunteer Chair for her campus. She is helping the District move closer to the 600,000-hour goal set by Dr. Gene Buinger at the May luncheon.
