HEB ISD Recognizes Curtis Mayo!

Met Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex at National Scout Museum Ceremony

 

Curtis Mayo, L.D. Bell High School Class of 2012, was invited to be one of six Eagle Scouts to meet His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex, third in line to the throne of England, during his visit to the National Scout Museum in Irving on May 20th. The Prince was the guest of honor at a signing ceremony to introduce the Duke of Edinburgh Award to youth aged 14-21. Curtis Mayo served as the flag captain of the honor guard. He later had an opportunity to meet with Prince Edward who inquired about his activities and achievements. "It was a great honor to meet Prince Edward. The experience is one that I will always remember," Curtis said. The Prince's visit and his meeting with Curtis Mayo and other Eagle Scouts were covered on television and viewed by more than 7 million people nationwide according to a media monitoring service.
