HEB ISD Recognizes Eric Dowdey!

Drumline Captain at University of Notre Dame

Eric Dowdey, a 2009 graduate of L.D. Bell High School and a three-year member of the L.D. Bell Blue Raider Band, was selected as Drumline Captain for the Fighting Irish Band of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Membership in the band has taken Eric across the country and most recently to Ireland. One hundred senior members of the band performed live on international television, where Eric's talents were prominently displayed in a snare drum solo (see video on YouTube). Last year the university band also performed with the band Chicago and at the Brian Boitanao Skating Spectacular show televised nationally. Eric is a civil engineering major and has recently been selected for active duty in the U.S. Army upon his graduation in May 2013.
