National Runner-up for Aspirations in Computing Award

Please join me in congratulating Paslyn Lewis! She is a National Runner Up award winner for the NCWIT Aspirations Award. From their website:

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. The Award offers both national and local "affiliate" competitions to generate support and visibility for women's participation in communities nationwide.

This qualifies her for a $1000 scholarship from UT (where she plans to major in mechanical engineering). (In addition to a possible $500 scholarship for being on a FIRST robotics team.)

She is still in the running at the Texas state level for this competition as well.

Please congratulate her if you see her. This was quite an accomplishment. She had to write several essays and a phone interview for this competition. Approximately 200+ girls nationwide made it to this level out of the 2,000+ that applied!
