Summer 2017 Activities
More programs will be added as their information is made available. Contact the school or department hosting the program for more information. Note that some summer programs have limited space and/or signup deadlines.

For elementary & secondary students:
Summer School Programs (Curriculum Department) - These are the programs people usually think of as "summer school", including Credit Advancement & Credit Recovery plus Elementary Student Success and Student Success Initiative, Early Language Proficiency, and Accelerated Instruction for EOC.
Summer Dining (Child Nutrition Department) - Each summer, select HEB ISD school cafeterias provide free meals for kids age 1 through 18.
Gymnastics Programs (Pennington Field) - Preschool, Age Group, and Competitive gymnastics programs hosted at the gymnasiums at Pennington Field
Rising Stars GT Summer Academy (Advanced Academics) - a unique, hands-on learning opportunity for gifted students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades in fall 2017.
Summer Reading Assignments for Advanced Classes (Advanced Academics) - summer reading assignments for advanced academics classes, including Pre-AP, AP, pre-IB, IB, and GT, for 6th grade through 12th grade
For elementary students:
Camp Invention (Advanced Academics) - One-week camp for identified gifted and talented students who will be in grades 1-5 this fall.
STEM Summer Camp (STEM Department) - Explorations in science, technology, engineering, and math. For 3rd-6th grade students. Registration for this year's STEM Summer Camp is now closed; all spots are filled.
Summer Family Literacy Event Series (Family Engagement) A workshop series that will help equip families with tools to help their students continue to grow as readers. Free books!
For secondary students:
Camp Connect (Buinger CTE Academy) - One week program for students entering grade 8, to explore the courses offered at the Buinger Career & Technical Education Academy.
