The Hurst-Euless-Bedford Association for the gifted and talented (HEBAGT) will sponsor a Summer Activity Fair to present Metroplex summer activity opportunities for elementary and secondary students. The event will be from 10am – NOON, Saturday, January 29, 1849 Central Drive in the Pat May Building (facing Pennington field).

This come-and-go event is open to all students and parents in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. HEBAGT will have more than a dozen different booths, representing educational and artistic summer camps in the area.

There will also be a booth for the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) to offer assistance in applying for TAGT summer scholarships. TAGT offers scholarships for Texas students in grades K-12, who have been identified as gifted and talented, for the purpose of attending academic or artistic programs during the summer.

The application process involves a handwritten response from the student, a parent recommendation letter, and two other professional recommendation letters. The scholarships, awarded based on the merit of the application (not by financial need), can be given in amounts up to $300.
