| The Texas Counseling Association has presented Mary Ann Maryol, counselor at KEYS Learning Center, with the Dr. Jamesanna Kirven Outstanding Counselor Award, for outstanding achievement in the support of the counseling profession. The award is given to one counselor each year at the association's annual professional growth conference. Maryol received the award at the November 2 conference in El Paso.
Maryol has been a school counselor for nearly 30 years. She has been recoginzed for being a role model and advocate for all counselors. The association said that Maryol "is a gifted leader in counseling organizations and has an amazing work ethic, along with the ability to 'reframe' negative situations and place them in a positive light." Maryol is a active member of the North Central Texas Counseling Association, holding several offices during her career. She has served as coordinator of the Texas Counseling Association Growth Conference. She volunteers with the Holy Family Catholic Church Pastoral Council, Meals on Wheels and the Fort Worth Parenting and Guidance Center. ### HEB - Empowering Today to Excel Tomorrow |
