The American Association of Webmasters (AAWM) has named the District’s web site, www.hebisd.edu, a 2006 Gold Award winner for the month of March. Winners are selected each month, and at the end of the year, all winning sites are eligible for the Site of the Year Award.
Gold Award winners must score between 90 and 100 points on the judges' criteria. Criteria used to judge sites are Design and Creativity (up to 40 points); Content (up to 30 points); Navigation (Up to 15 points); and Scripting and Technical (up to15 points).
In order to be considered for an award, the website submitted to AAWM must have a nice clean design and at least 10 pages of quality information (excluding award pages, contact pages, feedback forms and guestbooks). The site must not have any visible error messages.
A committee of professional web developers reviews each eligible web site to determine winners. Judges are carefully selected, and all have at least five years experience in web design or online marketing skills.
The AAWM Association, and more particularly its various Award Programs, was designed to supply formal recognition and acknowledge the hard work and dedication that each applicant has put into constructing their web sites using their own brand of style creativity, and content.
Carolyn Marcantel of the Communications Department is the District’s webmaster.
