| The district's Communications Department has won awards from two national organizations.
The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) presented the department with an award in the Publication & Electronic Media Awards category, for the video, "What Are the 40 Developmental Assets?" NSPRA also presented the department with a Golden Achievement Award  for the creation of the HEB Communicators. The HEB Communicators is a local group of public relations and public information representatives. The group won the award for improving communications between public schools, higher education, municipalities, chamber, hospital, and law enforcement.
The Communications Department also won two APEX Awards of Excellence, in the Home Page category, for the district's web site, and an APEX Award for Special Purpose Brochures, Manuals & Reports, for the 2004-2009 district goals book. The Director of Communications is Judy Everett Ramos, and the district Webmaster is Carolyn Marcantel. ### |
