| The KEYS Learning Center senior class took on a volunteer project to raise money for medical equipment for Cook Children's Hospital, rather than trying to fund a short senior trip. This money will be donated in honor of Katie Steffan, daughter of KEYS English teacher Janet Sansing. Katie was hospitalized at Cook Children's for several months after her birth.
In order to raise money, students are selling donated canned drinks, baked goods, pickles, and candy. They will also have a hot dog cook out, as well as an ice cream sundae feast to raise funds for this worthy cause. One student held a garage sale over spring break to benefit the fund. The students who have been active in this project will take a trip to Cook Children's Hospital on March 28 to present the funds to the hospital and take a short tour as well. |
