Academic Planning Guides
We've updated the name! Starting with 2018-2019, "course description books" are now called "academic planning guides".
These are our course planning guides for students entering 7th and 8th grade. Sixth graders will need this document to decide which classes to sign up for in junior high.
These course planning guides cover classes for 9th through 12 grade. Eighth graders will use this document to decide which classes to sign up for in 9th grade.

Success Guides
These guides help students prepare for the school transitions in their future.

Information for Spring 2023 Sixth Graders
In addition to our Academic Planning Guides and Success Guides, we've created these special documents for students who will be in seventh grade in Fall of 2023:
- Spring 2023 Letter for 6th Grade Parents
- 2023 Junior High Brochure for Rising 7th Grades

Schools of Choice
HEB ISD has "Schools of Choice" programs that let students focus on specific topics or skills. The programs aren't always offered at every school. Students and families who are interested in one of these programs will need to apply for the program, and may need to apply for a Schools of Choice transfer if the program is not at the school the student would be zoned for.
