Future KEYS High School Building - Bond 23 Updates

Construction Plan

The building currently housing Bell Manor Elementary will be renovated and become the future home for KEYS High School. This project has additional dependencies that must happen before (and after) the new school building is completed:

  • First, the programs  currently housed at the FEW Center must move to other locations. This depends on progress of the 1701 W. Euless Blvd. project, which includes temporary space for the KEYS High School program.
  • Then, the structures currently standing at the corner of Pipeline and Raider drive can be demolished, and the new Bell Manor Elementary building can be built.
  • After Bell Manor's staff and students move into the new building, the old Bell Manor building will be renovated for long-term use by other district programs, like KEYS High School.

Because of these factors, renovation of the future home of KEYS High School is likely to be among the last 2023 Bond projects to be completed. This work will likely start after the completion of the new Bell Manor Elementary building, which is currently anticipated for late 2027.

Note: All construction timelines are always estimates. Construction timelines can be impacted by many factors, such as extreme weather, supply chain issues, special events, and more.

HEB ISD Bond Election 2023

In November 2023, HEB ISD voters approved a bond that included a proposal to provide a future home for KEYS High School.

The current Bell Manor Elementary building presented an interesting opportunity as part of the 2023 Bond: many parts of the campus are no longer appropriately-sized for elementary school use, but the building itself is in solid condition. This building will be renovated to become the future home of KEYS High School.
