Wilshire Elementary - Bond 23 Updates
Construction Plan
The Wilshire Elementary building will look similar to the other 2023 Bond elementary school projects and other recently rebuilt HEB ISD elementary schools. By using a common design instead of starting each new school over from scratch, HEB ISD saves money on initial design and construction. The shared design also allows for more efficient maintenance across the district reducing costs over time.
Construction on the new Wilshire Elementary building is planned to begin in October 2025. The new building could open as early as December 2026, with site completion estimated for March 2027.
Note: All construction timelines are always estimates. Construction timelines can be impacted by many factors, such as extreme weather, supply chain issues, special events, and more.
In November 2023, HEB ISD voters approved a bond that included a proposal to build a new building for Wilshire Elementary, on the same campus as the current school. Once Wilshire staff and students move into the new building, the older building will be demolished.
