IB Diploma Rate (1.5F)

HEB ISD Data Scorecard

IB Diploma Rate

International Baccalaureate (IB) is a prestigious opportunity offered to students through HEB ISD's Schools of Choice program. IB is the highest academic curriculum for high school students and is recognized by universities for its depth and challenge. The college-level coursework and projects required aim to develop students who flourish intellectually, emotionally, and ethically.

To earn an IB diploma, students must complete all components of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme curriculum, including:

  • Study within six subject groups, including a combination of standard-level IB courses and higher-level IB courses
  • A study of the Theory of Knowledge, reflecting on the nature of knowledge and "how we know what we claim to know"
  • An extended essay, developed through self-directed research and culminating in a 4,000 word paper
  • Creativity, activity, and service projects comprised of real, purposeful activities with significant outcomes

HEB ISD has set a goal that the percentage of our district's IB students earning the IB diploma will meet or exceed the world average; that data is reflected in the chart below.

Note: This data is aligned to Success Measure 1.5F in HEB ISD's Strategic Plan.  IB is the data source for this information.
