The plan year for all benefits is September 1- August 31.

1. TRS - HEB ISD requires all employees to participate in TRS instead of Social Security. The membership contribution rate is 8.25% of your annual salary.
2. TRS INS - Mandatory active member contribution to TRS-Care (health insurance for retirees) is .65% of your annual salary.

We pay for the month of the coverage.

A PPO gives you the freedom to choose any provider. The HMO is a network plan and requires you to select a provider from the network's group of providers. Keep in mind using an in-network provider on a PPO will save you money.

Specifically for dental, the PPO has an annual maximum amount the plan will pay; the DHMO does not have a calendar year maximum.

Login to the EAC (Employee Access Center) and update your information. This will feed to all of your benefit carriers over the following week.
