Bereavement (Funeral Leave)

Use of state leave and /or local sick for a death in the immediate family must NOT exceed ten (10) workdays per occurrence, subject to the approval of the District. The 10 work days do not have to be used consecutively but must be taken within the employee's duty year of when the family member's death occurred.

Use of state leave for the death of a non-immediate family member must NOT exceed a total of five (5) workdays per school year, subject to the approval of the District. Bereavement documentation may be required.
