HEB ISD Pre-K

Online registration for Prekindergarten will open by April 8, 2025. 

Eligible children must be FOUR years of age on/before September 1, of the current school year. 

State-Based Pre-K parents can start to register online, using the links below: 

After you submit the online registration form you will need to come in-person to the Pat May Center (1849 Central Drive Building B, Bedford, TX, 76022) on one of these days to continue your registration process. Bring your child and all original documents:

  • April 11, 2025 9:00 AM-1:00 PM 
  • April 14, 2025 9:00 AM-6:00 PM 
  • April 15, 2025 2:00 PM-6:00 PM 
  • April 16, 2025 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Eligibility

Students must be 4 years old by September 1st.

Must meet ONE of the following criteria: [as specified in Texas Education Code §29.153 (b)]

  • unable to speak and comprehend the English language
  • is educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the national school lunch program... guidelines about NSLP eligibility can be found in sections 4 and 6 of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Administrators Reference Manual)
  • is homeless, as defined by 42 USC, §11434a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child
  • is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority
  • is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
  • is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Family Code §262.201
  • is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Texas Government Code §3106.002, a firefighter under Texas Government Code §3106.003 an emergency medical first responder under Texas Government Code §3106.004

Eligibility

Students must be 4 years old by September 1st.

Families pay a monthly tuition fee.

Lottery System

  • Students will be seated in the program based on a lottery system.
  • Families interested in enrolling their student for Tuition-Based Pre-K must complete the Tuition-Based Pre-K Lottery Application prior to the deadline in order to participate in the lottery.  
  • Families will receive email notifications with the lottery results as soon as they are available.

We ensure that all children are provided an early childhood education that can promote intellectual, language, physical, and emotional development, creating school readiness and building a foundation for later academic and social competence.
