Pre-K Registration
Note: Please contact the HEB ISD Pre-K Department if you would like to register for pre-K for the current 2025-2026 school year.
2026-2027 School Year
Eligible children must be FOUR years of age on/before September 1 of their pre-K school year.

Documentation for Enrollment
- Birth Certificate (original or certified copy)
- Immunization Records
- Social Security Card (if available)
- Proof of District Residency
- Current utility bill (gas/water/electricity) with parent's or guardian's name and address
- Current lease agreement with parent's or guardian's name and address. Must have the first and last page of the lease agreement.
The following documents are needed to determine eligibility for free State-Based Pre-K.
- Economically Disadvantaged
- Current pay stub with gross income for all household members
- Tax Return (if Self-Employed)
- Proof of Food Stamp/TANF
- Public Assistance Award Letter (Food stamp/TANF letter indicating current amount & dates)
- Public Assistance Award Letter (Food stamp/TANF letter indicating current amount & dates)
- Limited English Language Speaker:
- Home language survey
- Important: Child must be present to determine English language proficiency
- Homeless
- A McKinney Vento advocate will reach out to you.

- Active Military Parent:
- Department of Defense (DoD) photo identification for children of active duty service members,
- A copy of the “Statement of Service” from the Installation Adjutant General (AG) Director of Human Resources,
- A copy of the Death Certificate using the service-appropriate Department of Defense form, or a Department of Defense form that indicates death as the reason for the separation from the service for children of service members who died or were killed,
- A copy of the Purple Heart orders or citation for children of service members or mobilized reservists/guardsmen who were wounded or injured in combat; or
- A copy of the Line of Duty Determination documentation
- Conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS):
- A copy of documents from the Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) indicating that the student is currently or formerly placed in their conservatorship following an adversary hearing under Family Code 262.201
- A copy of documents from the Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) indicating that the student is currently or formerly placed in their conservatorship following an adversary hearing under Family Code 262.201
- Parent eligible for the Star of Texas Award:
- A peace officer under Texas Government Code §3106.002
- A firefighter under Texas Government Code §3106.003
- An emergency medical first responder under Texas Government Code §3106.004
- Parent Employed as a Classroom Teacher:
- Verification of employment as a public primary or secondary school in the school district that offers a prekindergarten class under this section.
