Library Materials - Access, Selection, Reconsideration
Welcome!
Our school libraries are places where students can explore new ideas, discover favorite stories, and build strong reading habits. Librarians carefully choose books and other materials that support classroom learning, reflect diverse interests and experiences, and spark curiosity. We also value input from HEB students, families, staff, and community members about our library resources and services. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions for new titles, please connect with your campus librarian to start the conversation.
Parents/Guardians, we are excited to work alongside you in encouraging your child’s reading growth and developing a lasting love of learning. In HEB ISD, parents and guardians play the leading role in deciding what library materials are appropriate for their students.
Behind every book and resource on our library shelves is a thoughtful process. Certified librarians review trusted recommendations, professional journals, and curriculum connections to find materials that match our students’ learning goals and interests. Please click the links below for information on how to access our libraries, the selection processes for procurring new materials, and steps to take if you have concerns.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Kiera Elledge, STEM/School Libraries Coordinator. Email - kieraelledge@hebisd.edu | Phone - 817-399-2102
