Students who are attending their zoned schools of attendance and who reside two or more miles from their assigned campuses are eligible for transportation services at district-designated stops. Students are also bused from hazardous areas, as established by state guidelines, within the two-mile limit. Parents can check eligibility and route information, starting from our Bus Routes Online webpage.

Note: Students attending Keys, Bilingual Program, Newcomer Program, Overflow Status, NCLB Status, and 504 Declarations will need to contact the transportation department for bus routing information. Special Needs who require transportation as a related service, as determined by the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee, are eligible to ride the special education buses. For more information, contact the district's Special Education department.

Bus Stop Location

The overall safety of stop placement is the most important factor considered. Each bus stop is designed based on demographic studies, walking distances to stops, and ridership in the area.

Students who ride a school bus to school must be at their bus stop at least 5-7 minutes before the scheduled stop time. When the bus arrives at the stop, it is not required to wait for students who are not standing at the stop. HEB ISD drivers are only allowed to stop at designated bus stops.

Bus Identification

HEB ISD uses ROUTE numbers instead of bus numbers to identify the route. Please look for the black sign with white numbers, near the loading doors of the bus, to identify the route.

Route Information

Parents can check eligibility and route information, starting from our Bus Routes Online webpage. Bus information for the new school year will become available in late July or early August. If further assistance is needed after that time, call the Transportation Department at (817) 399-2441 and press “1” for Dispatch.

Note: Bus stops, bus numbers, and bus information can change each year, please be sure to verify your bus information prior to your first day of riding to or from school. During the first two weeks of school, please expect delays in bus arrival times.
