As of January 2024, our volunteers program (VIPS) has moved into the Raptor system's Volunteer Portal!

  • If you already had an account in our VIPS Hour Tracker system, we have imported your information from our old "Hour Tracker" system. You should have received an email on Monday, January 8 with the subject line "Volunteer Portal User Account Created" with a link to set up your new password.
  • If you are a new volunteer or if you are renewing your background/records check, use the "Volunteer Application" link on this page. You will need to watch the 5-minute training video, then complete the online application in the Raptor system.

The Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD and the HEB Council of PTAs created VIPS in 2001 to recruit and support volunteers who can provide hands-on assistance at our schools. The VIPS objective is to impact student achievement in a positive way, whether directly or indirectly.

 

Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds. They may be members of a group that has adopted a school; grandparents of children in school; or individuals who want to give back to the community. Volunteers can read to students, tutor in a particular subject area, work in the library, or assist with special events. There is almost no end to opportunities in VIPS.

All volunteers must present a government-issued photo ID every time they volunteer, and must pass a screening method approved by HEB ISD's Safety & Security team. For example:

  • People volunteering for the first time or who only volunteer occasionally are typically required to sign in at the school's front office by scanning a government-issued photo ID.
  • Repeat volunteers are asked to complete the Raptor Volunteer Application, and will also be asked to scan a government-issued photo ID each time they volunteer to verify their identity.

Note: The personalized sticker badge printed by our Raptor system replaces the personalized ID badges that HEB ISD used before the Raptor system was available.
