Clubs and Organizations

  • Junior high is a wonderful time for students. In order for students to have the best experience at Harwood, we strongly encourage all students to join at least one club, organization or team. It is important for students to be involved in a positive activity outside the regular school day. Below is a current list of the club offerings at Harwood.

Debate Club – Garrett Schooling Attention all students who like to debate! Debate Club might be the place for you! In Debate Club, we discuss many different topics from animal testing to school policy and everything in between. If you would like to join, stop by Mr. Schooling’s room, G116, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:55-8:15. No signup required!

Dungeons and Dragons Club – Frank LeCocq Are you interested in slaying vicious monsters, hunting for lost treasures or exploring strange forgotten lands? The D&D Club is actively recruiting brave and cunning adventurers to join the party. D&D Club meets every Tuesday from 3:40-4:40 in room F104.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes – Carter Cleveland FCA's mission is "to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church." Gay-Straight Alliance – Tamara Cook and Sarah Oldenburg Welcome to the GSA! This is a club where you cannot only be yourself, but be true to yourself. We provide a safe, supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ teenagers. You will get to talk about yourself as a person and be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, or be a supporter. We strive to learn from each other, and respect others and their role in the community. This club's desire is to be a safe place for all students. GSA meets from 3:40-4:40 p.m. on Tuesdays in Mrs. Oldenburg’s room, H101.

MakerSpace Club – Wendy Baggs In the library at 7:55 a.m. on the days when Mrs. Baggs is on campus, MakerSpace is a fun environment where kids can build, create and explore. Look for the sign in the courtyard or check in the library to see if MakerSpace is happening and join us!
