Summer 2020 Activities
More programs will be added as their information is made available. Contact the school or department hosting the program for more information. Note that some summer programs have limited space and/or signup deadlines.

For elementary & secondary students:
HEB ISD Summer Enrichment (Curriculum Department) - Free online activities for HEB ISD Kindergarten through 7th grade in two main sections: Keeping the Connection has activities especially for each grade level at each HEB ISD elementary school. STEAM Up Summer leads students through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activites that can be done at home.
HEB Reads! Summer Reading Program (School Libraries) - open to ages 1-99! HEB ISD partners with the city libraries for a free summer reading program, including online activities and many opportunities to win prizes.
Summer Dining Program (Child Nutrition) - free meals for kids age 18 and younger are distributed on Tuesdays and Thursdays through August 6 at seven locations in HEB ISD.
For elementary students:
Camp Invention (Advanced Academics) - One-week camp for identified gifted and talented students who will be in grades 1-5 this fall.
For secondary students:
Secondary Summer School (Curriculum Department) - These are the programs people usually think of as "summer school", including Credit Advancement & Credit Recovery.
Career Clusters video series (Career & Technical Education) - In place of our "Camp Connect" summer program, students entering 8th and 9th grade are encouraged to explore these videos, and consider Career & Technical Education courses they may be interested in during high school.
Summer Learning Opportunities (Advanced Academics) - Activities to help students prepare for Pre-AP/IB/GT, AP, and IB classes in the fall.
Resources for Parents & Families
Social & Emotional Tips for Parents & Families (Counseling Department) - new YouTube videos each week with tips for supporting students' needs and co-existing at home. Also available on Facebook: Social & Emotional Tips for Parents & Families.
Information for Families in Need (Family Support Services) - emergency help resources for students and families, including mobile food pantry schedule, local charitable groups, resources for students who have lost their housing, and more.
HEB ISD Coronavirus / COVID-19 website - includes more links to resources for families, tips for coping with stress, and information about free & low-cost Internet access.
