Food Pantry Overview
The mission of the HEB ISD Family Support Service Office is to identify and improve the lives of homeless and at-risk families in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. We provide many services that support our families and children during times of hardship and transition. We treat everyone who enters with dignity and respect in order to empower them to better their living situations and to support the educational environment of our children.
The Family Support Services Office food pantry depends on food drives, individual donations, and volunteer hours at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. If you or an organization you are part of is willing to host a food drive or volunteer once a month at the Tarrant Area Food Bank, please contact Ellen LoBue at (817) 399-3470.
In addition to a food pantry, the Family Support Service Office assists families with Medicaid and Food Stamp applications and referrals to other community social service agencies.

Donations
The Family Support Service Office relies on donations of food and Wal-Mart cards to fill the needs of our students. During the school year, donations can be delivered to the Family Support Service Office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Summer hours will vary.
-
Service Donations
We also greatly appreciate any service donations you might be able to offer on occasion such as auto repair. (Your service would not be offered publicly and would be coordinated through our office on a case-by-case basis. You would always have the option to decline your services for any reason at your discretion. Even a once-a-year good deed on your part could make the difference in student's well-being and education.)

Food Bank volunteering will help feed our students
Volunteers are needed each month to help us at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. For every volunteer that works at the TAFB, the FSSO is credited $5.15 per hour. This credit is then used to "buy" food from the TAFB for our families in need. This may not sound like much money for your time, but $5 worth of food from the TAFB goes a long way because prices are highly discounted and products are sold in bulk.
Our assigned volunteer time is the second Thursday of every month from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Please consider helping us on these evenings.

Other helpful services
