To receive clothing:
To receive clothing, please contact the nurse at your child's school. The nurse is the only person who can submit a request form to the Closet on the student's behalf for clothing needs. All forms are confidential.
After the nurse submits a request form, a Clothes Closet representative will contact your family. Students may receive clothes twice a school year, once before the winter break and once after the winter break. Depending on how much clothing we have, each visit will allow:
- up to five changes of clothes
- new socks & underwear
- and one pair of new shoes when available.
-
To donate:
We welcome your donations! Here are some rough guidelines of what we can accept:
- Sizes from 4T children to 5X adult
- Most items can be new or gently used. All athletic/tennis shoes, socks, and underwear must be new for health purposes.
- All items should be clean -- no stains or bleach spots, etc.
- Clothes should follow school dress code. Current styles are preferred (clothes your children would wear)
- Machine washable, no "dry clean only".
- Please note that we are not accepting any household goods, bedding, school supplies, toiletries or used socks, shoes or undergarments of any kind.
At any given time, we may be running low on certain clothing items. If you want to donate to our greatest needs, please contact us directly.
You may drop off donations at the Clothes Closet during our scheduled open hours (listed on this page). If that's not possible, contact the Clothes Closet Coordinator via email to make alternate arrangements.
In addition to donating clothing you already have, you can purchase items for us from the HEB PTA Clothes Closet's Amazon Wishlist

Donations from Businesses, Churches, and Organizations
Yes, please! Many local organizations support the Clothes Closet with their donation drives. You can donate clothing, winter clothes, shoes, and more. Contact us before your donation drive and we can tell you what we need right now.
The HEB ISD Council of PTAs is extremely thankful for the kindness and generosity of our community for all their donations. Through the 2020-2021 Seats and Feet drive through partnership with the HEB Local PTAs there were almost 10,000 socks and undergarments donated to the clothes closet. Thank you to our local PTAs, area churches, HEB chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, HEB Child Nutrition and the many others who contributed to the success of the HEB PTA Clothes Closet. A large majority of the shoes purchased this year were done so from a generous grant from State National Company of Bedford and employees of HEB ISD.

Volunteering
Volunteers are needed to sort, wash, fold, and hang the clothes. School PTAs send volunteers on a rotating schedule. More volunteers are always needed and welcome during regular operating hours. Youth needing community service hours may also volunteer at the Clothes Closet.
