It's time again for 6 Stones' annual Black and Blue Showdown! Each HEB ISD school is invited to collect non-perishable food items from their community.
Awards - A $1,000 award is given to the High School, Junior High, and Elementary School that bring the most food. The overall winning "side" (Bell & feeder schools vs. Trinity & feeder schools) will also receive an additional $1,000!
Suggested Food Items - canned meat (tuna, chicken, "Spam"), canned fruit, canned vegetables, spaghetti, tomatoes (canned or sauce), peanut butter, jelly (plastic jars please), oatmeal, crackers, chili, cereal, rice, pancake mix, pancake syrup, canned chicken broth, canned soups, cranberry sauce, boxed dinners (Hamburger Helper, Mac & Cheese, etc), dried pinto beans. Please, no ramen noodles.
How you can help - You can help your school win by bringing food items to your school during September 4 thru September 21, 2018. You can also bring food to the Bell vs. Trinity games on September 26 & 27, 2018. Online donations will also count $1 = 1 item.
Donated food will go to the New Hope Center and Christmas Providers. New Hope provides emergency assistance of food, clothing, and other resources to families in HEB. Christmas providers provides meals and gifts to families with children in local schools using the "adopt-a-family" approach"
