I grew up in Mesquite, Texas with my parents and three siblings. I come from a family of educators. My father is a retired teacher and coach, and all of my siblings are teachers.
I was a Kilgore College Rangerette and a member of a select dance group within the organization. After Kilgore, I transferred to Northwood University and obtained a degree in Business Management. My degree lead me to work for a net banking company in Irving. I worked in a cubicle and quickly realized that was not the life for me so I went back to school to become a secondary teacher. I student taught at Trinity and loved everything about this place. My goal quickly changed from wanting to be a computer teacher to wanting to be a Trinity High School teacher.
My first teaching position was in Irving at the Reassignment Center. My second year of teaching, I found my way back to HEB ISD. I taught and coached gymnastics at Harwood Junior for eight years. I will always cherish my time at Harwood, my gymnastics program, and the extra-curricular programs I joined. In addition to coaching, I mentored students in the Hawks Program, lead Faculty Council, and was the cheer sponsor for three years.
This is my fifth year to teach at Trinity. I absolutely love my job and enjoy being involved in extra programs and committees. I am the student council sponsor, prom advisor, lead teacher for the CTE department, and a member of a few district level committees.
