Overview of Benefits in HEB ISD (click to expand description):
The Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District provides group health insurance coverage for employees under the HEB ISD Health Plan. The District contributes the first $225.00 per month toward each regular employee's health coverage.
The District provides each employee with a $5,000 life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy at no cost. Voluntary coverage above $5000 is available to employees and their dependents at an additional cost.
The District provides up to a $1 million general liability coverage for defense in civil suits against employees carrying out their duties according to policy.
Several types of individual insurance programs are available through payroll deductions at employees' expense including disability, cancer, dental and vision coverage.
Employees may have a specific amount of their salary payroll deducted and invested into a tax sheltered annuity plan.
All employees receive 10 leave days per year: five local sick days and five state personal leave days.
Salary supplements are paid for sponsoring newspapers, yearbooks, speech, theater, pep squad, cheerleaders, drill teams, student councils and academic decathlon. Supplements are also paid for serving as department or grade-level chairperson. All coaches, band directors and choral directors are paid supplements as well.
