HEB ISD texts will come from new numbers, starting February 6, 2026

HEB ISD uses a system called Finalsite to send mass notification emails and texts to parents and employees. Finalsite is about to change the numbers that these text messages will come from.

Until now, Finalsite text messages from HEB ISD have usually come from “97178”. Starting Friday, February 6, HEB ISD text messages will come from 8173288997 and 8172077643.

You can save these new numbers in your contacts as “HEB ISD Alerts” so you always recognize messages from us.

Why the change?

Our mass communications vendor, Finalsite, is moving away from short codes in favor of local phone numbers, in line with industry best practices. Local numbers are more familiar and trusted by recipients, improving message delivery and recognition. 

One important clarification:

• This change applies only to mass text messages 
• Recorded voice messages (such as attendance calls) will continue to come from our main school phone number, as they always have.
• While it might seem logical to use the same number for mass text and voice messages, federal regulations require separate numbers for each type of communication.
