Letter from Shannon Huber, 2020-2021 Harrison Lane Principal

Dear Bulldog Families,

My name is Shannon Huber. I am so excited to be joining Harrison Lane as Principal. I feel honored to be chosen as a bulldog and cannot wait to start my new journey with you. I look forward to meeting you and your family and becoming a part of the Harrison Lane community.

It is a privilege to have worked in HEB for almost 20 years. After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington, I accepted a teaching position at Donna Park. I spent 13 years there teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade and serving as the Reading Specialist and a Dyslexia teacher. During my 14th year of teaching, I continued my journey and accepted the Instructional Specialist position at North Euless. Although I was only there for a year, I gained valuable knowledge that prepared me for my next 5 years as the Assistant Principal at Bedford Heights.

Family is very important to me. I have been married to my college sweetheart, Matt, for 19 years. He is a Physical Education teacher in Northwest ISD. Matt and I have 3 children and a Siberian Husky, Dakota. Our oldest, Kylie, is a junior in high school. We spend time chaperoning her Colorguard events and attending her Cross Country meets. Mackenzie is our seventh grader who loves to sing in her middle school Show Choir. Preston, our fifth grader, has decided to become a percussionist and we are thrilled to have him practicing in our living room. When I’m not driving all over town I like to take walks with my family and spend time playing board games.

I believe “it takes a village”, and I am overjoyed to be joining yours! I cannot wait to get to know you. Feel free to reach out to me at any time at shannonhuber@hebisd.edu.

Looking forward to the future,
Shannon Huber
