Letter from Miranda Martin, 2020-2021 Shady Brook Principal
Greetings Shady Brook Elementary Community,
My name is Miranda Martin, and I am overjoyed that I have been selected to serve as the incoming Shady Brook Elementary School Principal. It is a dream come true to be an elementary principal in HEB ISD, in particular at Shady Brook. I cannot wait to begin the journey we will embark upon together next year!
To tell you a bit about myself, I am a product of HEB ISD, having attended Donna Park Elementary, Hurst Junior High, and L.D. Bell High School. I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em!) and my master’s degree at UNT. I began my teaching career in Irving, teaching 6th-8th Grade English, Reading, and Humanities. I then taught 6th and 3rd Grade at North Euless Elementary. For the past six school years, I have had the pleasure of serving as the Assistant Principal at River Trails Elementary.
Personally, I am married to Brian, a captain for the North Richland Hills Fire Department, and I am mom to Matthew, 8, and Chloe, 6, both HEB ISD students. I spend my time outside of school running my children to their many activities and spending time with friends and family. When I have time for hobbies, I enjoy gardening, yoga, painting, and reading.
I am devoted to the growth of every student as a whole child, the success of every teacher, and a partnership with every member of our community. I feel honored and humbled to be in this position, and I look forward to getting to know all of your families in the coming months. Please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com prior to the start of next year with anything you would like to share.
