They are at their assigned crossing locations every morning and afternoon regardless of weather conditions. They ensure safe crossing by monitoring and controlling traffic flow.  They place the safety and well-being of the children above their own. They closely observe and monitor their surroundings and immediately report any unusual or suspicious behavior to their local police department. They coordinate their on-site times with each school and ensure they are at their assigned locations before the first child arrives and they stay until after the last child has safely crossed.
