On May 14, 2021, four North Texas High School Culinary Student Teams – HEB ISD Buinger CTE, Dallas ISD Skyline High School, Arlington ISD Dan Dipert Career Center, and Frisco ISD Frisco CTE - competed for grant prizes from The Gene & Jerry Jones Family Foundation and Dairy MAX for their schools by creating exciting menus. Their culinary creations were cooked on their behalf by Legends Chef Mentors at AT&T Stadium, then judged by a panel of including former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Back George Teague, and culinary experts George Wasai, Director of Food and Beverage, Legends at AT&T Stadium, Annette Volleman of Volleman’s Family Farm in Gustine, TX, and Dairy MAX Industry Partnerships Director Gretchen Crichton.
The HEB Buinger CTE Academy team won First Place in the 2021 competition and received a $10,000 School Grant from the Gene & Jerry Jones Family Foundation, and also had the opportunity to host a Celebrity Chef Stand at the Nov. 7 Cowboys Game.
