(This message is also being emailed to all HEB ISD parents & families on January 5, 2022.)
To All HEB ISD Parents & Families:
HEB ISD administrators are continuing to monitor local COVID-19 data in our community and communicate with our county public health officials. Tarrant County’s Community Spread Level has risen from Substantial to High. Based on current data, we have several announcements to share:
We have updated our Return to Learn plan to emphasize our strong recommendation for mask-wearing and to allow for more social distancing in school. The updated plan can be viewed in its entirety at www.hebisd.edu/ReturnToLearn
We re-opened the HEB ISD COVID Testing Center three days earlier than planned. This allows staff and students to take a free COVID test at a convenient location in our community, which can help prevent COVID-positive staff and students from returning to classrooms. We are also investigating whether it is possible to extend the Testing Center’s hours in future weeks – for more info and updates, visit: www.hebisd.edu/COVIDTestingCenter
Based on communication with local public health experts, we are not planning to reduce our existing quarantine/isolation processes. Our current processes have been successful at greatly limiting potential spread of COVID-19.
Even with strong health processes implemented in our schools, we all must continue to follow common sense advice for preventing transmission of infectious disease. Do not come to school or work in HEB ISD if you are ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Avoid spending time in close proximity with people who are feeling “under the weather” or who would not be able to notify you if they later tested positive for COVID-19.
We will continue to share local COVID-19 vaccination opportunities, as information becomes available. Check this page for any future opportunities: https://www.hebisd.edu/Page/1814
