Summer 2023 Activities
More programs will be added as their information is made available. Contact the school or department hosting the program for more information. Note that some summer programs have limited space and/or signup deadlines.
To add a program, HEB ISD staff can email Dave Nielsen (DavidNielsen@hebisd.edu).
For elementary & secondary students:
Camp CALL (Chinese/Arabic Language Learning) - Learn Arabic or Chinese language and experience hands-on learning through food, music, and more in this free 6-day summer academy. Students who will be in grades 6-9 in fall can apply online.
Sports Summer Camps (Athletics) - Develop your skills in sports like football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, and more. Different camps have programs for different grade levels of students.
College for Kids (TCC Northeast Campus) - Tarrant County College offers a 3-week summer enrichment program for children in 3rd through 8th grades. Available courses at the Northeast Campus cover a wide range of topics, including art, science, math, reading & writing, tae kwon do, and more!
Summer Dining (Child Nutrition Department) - Each summer, select HEB ISD locations provide free meals for children ages 1-18.
For elementary students:
Elementary STEAM Camp & Pre-K Discovery Camp (Clayton Youth) - These local camps are offered through a partnership with Clayton Youth and provide opportunities for students ages 4 to 13.
Note: Other elementary "summer school" programs are mostly based on an academic need. In these situations, the school will communicate directly with the student's family with more information. Since these summer programs are not open to all students, we usually don't post those details online.
For secondary students:
Secondary Summer School (Curriculum Department) - These are the programs people usually think of as "summer school", including Credit Advancement & Credit Recovery.
